Sarah Pavan is most commonly known as being a Canadian professional volleyball player. Born on August 16, 1986, in Kitchener, Ontario, Sarah started playing volleyball competitively at age 10 and never stopped. With a career spanning more than 25 years, Sarah has made her mark as one of the top volleyball (and beach volleyball) players in the world as a 2-time Olympian, World Champion, NCAA Champion, professional club volleyball champion, and more.
While most of Sarah’s visibility comes from her play on the court, she is much more than an athlete, and has managed to create or become part of communities that share her values and interests. Sarah does a lot of advocacy work with non-profit organizations such as Fast and Female and Right To Play, working to keep girls in sport and to bring sport to underprivileged Canadian communities.
Sarah is also a business-owner and mentor. Her business, Next Lvl Consulting, connects Sarah with young volleyball athletes who are looking to pursue the sport after high school and beyond. Sarah serves as a mentor, coach, and resource for these athletes, just as countless individuals were for Sarah on her own journey.
Utilizing her platform as a recognizable volleyball athlete, Sarah has used social media to combine her love of community with her hobbies. Some of these include a world-wide book club and YouTube channels, showcasing her love of anime and volleyball education.
